WICHITA COUNTY DEMOCRATIC ASSOCIATION

ABOUT US The Wichita County Democratic Association (WCDA)

The Wichita County Democratic Association (WCDA), a separate legal entity from the Wichita County Democratic Party (WCDP), provides manpower and donations to WCDP. WCDA plans occasional fundraising events to support the maintenance of the WCDP/WCDA Headquarters.

In 2023 we began our “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” campaign. Throughout 2023 we collected medical supplies to put in small first aid kits that we provided to the homeless. Additionally, we collected personal hygiene items that we donated to the residents of Faith Mission Women’s Refuge.

In October 2023 we partnered with the Eastside AARP Chapter to have a Meet and Greet for the Democratic Mayoral candidate, Beverly Ellis. Also, in October 2023, we sponsored a dinner for the Hirschi High School Varsity Football Team.

We are looking for future projects and outreach events that will make Democrats a visible presence in helping our community. We want suggestions from our members for other ways to help and we hope new members to our organization will have suggestions and will volunteer to work with us.

WCDA meets once a month, with meetings that feature discussions and information important to the local Democratic community. All are welcome to attend meetings.

WCDA annual dues are $25, but membership is not a requirement to volunteer or to attend monthly meetings. Dues are appreciated because they are used to help fund various community events and to support WCDP in small ways.

Meetings are held the third Thursday each month at 6:30 p.m. at Democratic Headquarters:

Mission Statement of the Wichita County Democratic Association
The primary mission of the Wichita County Democratic Association is to promote our values by helping elect Democratic candidates at the local, state, and national levels.

We will attempt to reach the goal of our mission by:

  1. Supporting candidates through our work. This includes traditional methods such as letter/card writing, putting up campaign signs for candidates, as well as using social media.

  2. Providing financial support, as funds allow, from our organization and from individual members to campaigns for candidates.

  3. Maintaining our headquarters as a center for our work and making headquarters available to candidates. To maintain our HQ, our members volunteer their time and and financial support if they are able.

  4. We will have GOTV (Get Out the Vote) campaigns which includes voter registration. (https://ballotpedia.org/What_is_GOTV).

  5. We will encourage Democrats of all ages to be active in the work of our party.
